Servites of Mary

The Secular Order of the Servants of Mary is a secular fraternity of lay men and women who join together as a third order to proclaim the Word of God and reflect together on it, so as to live more fruitfully the beatitudes of Christ by means of the Rule of Life of the Servants of Mary. The Servites meet once per month, usually on the first Saturday.

These meetings consist of two components:

  1. A spiritual education lecture and/or study which is for the edification of the Servites and is open to the public.; and
  2. A business meeting which is closed to the public, this usually following immediately after the spiritual program/presentation.

The Servites as well are involved in various acts of charity within and without the parish, most recently commencing home visitation and communion to the sick and shut-ins every first Friday of the month. Membership in the Servites requires a commitment to prayer and to the apostolate of the local order. Membership is achieved by way of public profession to the promises of the order, this granted after a lengthy period of prayer, study, and discernment with mentors of the local order, this all done in keeping with the premises of novitiate and postulancy. For further information, you may contact the parish office to be referred to the local superior. Literature of the Servites is available in the reading racks located in the vestibule of the church.
